In January 2014 The White Lion Inn underwent a total refurbishment to the exterior and interior building providing a rustic and cosy atmosphere in beautiful surroundings. br / br / At The White Lion Inn we have eight centrally heated en-suite rooms comprising of five doubles one twin one family room and one single all decorated and furnished to a high standard with double glazed windows. Each room is equipped with a colour flat screen television tea and coffee making facilities WiFi Internet access and hairdryer. Children are welcome and a cot and high chair can be provided upon request. br / br / We provide a good hearty breakfast with lunch and evening meals also being available. Our dishes are all made from locally sourced ingredients whenever possible and we have several vegetarian options available. Special dietary requests can be catered for with prior notice. We have a delicious selection of fine wines from all over the world to compliment our traditional ales and ciders. br / br / In warmer weather you can enjoy a drink or meal in our country garden which sits next to the brook or on our new patio area to the front. Dogs are welcome in the bar and garden areas. br / br / We also boast a resident Magician. Chris entertains locals and diners alike with his wit and close-up Magic making the evening that bit more special. Chris is also available for bookings holding the British Close- up Championship Award 2012. br / br / Our facilities included a function room with dance floor available for private hire accessible toilets bar and comfortable seating areas restaurant and outside facilities. Eight en-suite rooms parking and bicycle facilities dog walking areas and a five minute walk takes you to an excellent park for younger children. We have a village shop and travelling to Oakham and Melton Mowbray Towns takes about 15 minutes. The bus stops right outside the pub if you don t want to drive and Rutland Water Nature Reserve and sailing lake is only 15 minutes from the pub.

Melton Mowbray Railway Station - Train: We are located aprox 3.5 miles from the Station the number 19 bus for Oakham stops outside the Station half past every hour up until 6.30pm and will stop directly outside the White Lion Inn in Whissendine br/ br/ Melton Mowbray - Road: Take the A606 towards Oakham after approx 2 miles turn left Whissendine Road at the end of the road turn left onto Oakham Road continue onto Main Street The White Lion is on the left just after the bridge. br/ br/ Oakham - Road: Take A606 towards Melton Mowbray after Langham fork left Oakham Road into Whissendine continue onto Main Street The White Lion is on the left just after the bridge
