Compston Road Ambleside Cumbria LA22 9DJ The church is Ambleside s most prominent landmark so head for the spire as we are right next door to it. From the south take the A590/A591 byapssing Kendal and Windermere towards Ambleside. At Waterhead traffic lights turn left on to the A593 and follow into the centre of town past the rugby club and onto the one way system. The putting green in on your left bear left at the top of the road and The Gables is straight ahead of you. From the north go through the town centre (all one way) turn right down Wansfell Road (signposted Coniston) bear right at the T junction (still on the one way system) and bear left at the first junction. The Gables is in front of you and you re heading towards the church gates.
