Dating back to 1760 with further additions in 1811 and 1849 Bush Nook was a working farm until the 1950 s. Providing quality accommodation in a traditional farmhouse setting with an accredited Visit Britain 4 Star rating. br / br / br / br / We can provide home cooked evening meals for groups of 6 to 12 with predominantly local ingredients and produce which includes local lamb beef and dairy products along with a drinks menu providing a wide range of wines spirits and soft drinks. Dinners should be booked in advance with prior notice of any special dietary needs. Ideally situated to explore the area which is a hidden treasure of England with beautiful scenery and the largely unexplored area of the English borders the Northumberland National Park the North Pennines and the Eden Valley. Directions to Bush Nook Gilsland

A69 - Road: 20 minutes from the M6 at Carlisle and 40 minutes from the A1 at Newcastle Bush Nook is half way between the towns of Brampton & Haltwhistle. Turn off the A69 where you see a brown tourism for Birdoswald Roman Fort and a red and white sign for RAF Spadeadam. Down the hill for about half a mile go passed the small wetlands on your left and Bush Nook is the next property you see on right surrounded by open fields. Come down the driveway into the courtyard. br/ br/ Haltwhistle - Train: The East & West Coast Main lines are linked via the Carlisle to Newcastle rail link. Trains run approximately hourly in each direction to Haltwhistle which is 5 miles from Bush Nook. There is a taxi service from Haltwhistle and a limited local bus service. Please ask us for details.
