The Anvil offers cosy accommodation in the recently restored stable and forge in the former village blacksmiths in one of the most popular East Yorkshire Wolds villages. Guests will experience a courteous and friendly service with exclusive use of the attached private lounge with log burning stove and kitchenette. North Newbald nestles on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and is popular with both walkers and cyclists. This lovely village is home to one of the oldest and most historic churches in the area and is clustered around a quaint village green which it shares with two traditional pubs serving good ales and food. The Anvil is a great place to stay for just one night or a whole week. The Wolds are one of the great undiscovered quiet corners of England and North Newbald is an ideal base to explore them on foot or cycle. By car or bus you are within easy reach of the historic city of York (30 minutes) the port of Hull (20 minutes) or the Yorkshire Moors and Coast (1 hour). With many other attractions in the area its certainly worth stopping here a while.

Directions to Newbald Bed and Breakfast York

The village of North Newbald is situated just off the A1034 approx 4 miles south of Market Weighton which is on the York to Beverley Rd (A1079). Travelling from Mkt Weighton take the first turning left off the A1034 signposted for Newbald. Follow this road (Galegate) as it bends to the right and about 50 yards further on is a left turn into Eastgate. Our property stands on this junction and is recognisable by the two sets of large green double doors facing onto Eastgate.
