 The Red Lion village pub in Castle Caereinion has been in the hands of Joan and Richard for many years now. You couldn t wish for a warmer or more friendly local. br / br / br / br / The evening centre of village life. It s a place for a quiet drink and chat and/or a game of darts. Every first Wednesday of the month it is host to the Black Dog Open Mic Music Night where things can liven up a little. There are occasional special evenings including charity events such as quizzes or promise auctions. br / br / br / br / The Red Lion serves evening meals and also does Sunday Lunches. Dishes are simple and straightforward with both meat and vegetarian options. br / br / Why not drop in - you d be very welcome! br / br / br / br / We have 2 comfortable Double En-suite rooms available to guests. br / br / br / br / Situated close to Welshpool an old market town of great character which can still boast real individual local shops as well as a few common high street stores and supermarkets. Although many visitors to Wales just drive through on their way to and from the coast it is a place well worth exploring. br / br / br / br / Notable local attractions in the area include: br / br / br / br / Ty Mawr - The Grade I listing of Ty-Mawr Castle Caereinion is a significant survival of a medieval hall house. br / br / br / br / Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway - Castle Caereinion has a station on this line and in the summer months the whistles from the steam locomotives are heard echoing along the valley. br / br / br / br / Powis Castle & Garden - A few miles from our village just south of Welshpool is one of the gems of the National Trust.
