Off the A386 Tavistock to Okehampton road lies the village of Peter Tavy. Breakfast is served on a Georgian dining room table in the cosy dining room either full English or continental or a combination of both. After breakfast visit the beautiful 11th century church of Saint Peter then walk on up to the moor and enjoy the high sky and gentle rolling hills of wonderful Dartmoor with all its majestic Tors and deep hidden valleys. When you have feasted your eyes on the wild ponies black-face sheep and all colours of moorland flowers heather and bracken and your lungs are full of fresh pure air retrace your steps and just by the church you will find the 15th century Peter Tavy Inn. Take the A386 from Tavistock towards Mary Tavy. You will pass Kelly College on the left about 1 mile later you will see a sign on the right for Peter Tavy take this turning. Stay on this country road do not turn left or right for about 2 miles you will see Rose Cottage on the left. If you get to The Peter Tavy Inn you have gone past us!
