We cater for individuals and groups in a range of accommodation from boutique style B&B in the grade 11 listed Dam Head Barn to the luxurious 2 bedroomed Blacksmith s Cottage. In addition we now offer the Garden Studio a double room with bathroom ensuite and a kitchenette for those who prefer some independence. br / br / br / br / Dam Head Barn is a 400 year old listed barn which has been converted with integrity and a love of old buildings by the owners. The barn is attached to the original farmhouse of Dam Head Farm and is set in open gardens. Our rooms all have their own front door so guests have freedom of access at all times of day or night. br / br / br / br / Blacksmith s Cottage offers the best in self-contained accommodation. Split over two floors this rural gem is full of exposed beams and wonderful character. On the ground floor is a beautifully appointed lounge with log burner and fully fitted dining kitchen. A solid oak staircase leads to a gallery landing with two double rooms sharing one bathroom with walk in shower. br / br / br / br / We can accommodate 10-16 people and also have a purpose built cycle store BBQ facilities and extensive gardens to relax and enjoy. br / br / br / br / Our location speaks for itself -Roughlee sits at the foot of the majestic Pendle Hill within the Forest of Bowland area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB). Roughlee is a magnet for walkers and cyclist and tourists fascinated by the Lancashire Witches. Shopping eating houses mill shops and shopping outlets are found in abundance in local towns and over the hill to the lovely market town of Clitheroe.

Directions to Dam Head Barn - Studio and Cottages Nelson

M65 - Road: M65 and come off at J13 (Nelson/Kendal) and follow signs for Kendal travelling through Barrowford. On your left you will see a pub called The White Bear and follow the hill up and over for approximately 2 miles. You will find yourself in Roughlee with The Bay Horse facing you. Turn left and drive until you see the waterfall on your left and the village school on your right. Take the next right - drive straight forward and park in the Courtyard in front of the glass Conservatory. br/ br/ Public Transport - Train: You can get a bus/train into Nelson Town Centre. From there you can catch a bus to Roughlee but they only run once per hour. A taxi will cost around £5.00.
