Andy and Sue welcome you to the Red Lion at Newbrough an old coaching inn dating back to the 1190 s that has been brought back to the 21stc whilst maintaining all the charm of a countryside bed and breakfast with its log and coal burners and comfortable chairs. Relax and enjoy local real ale fine wines or other beverages available from the well- stocked bar. We have two restaurants the Stable and Beattie s both have log fires and a homely atmosphere. We offer a selection of high quality delicious freshly made food with a twist. br / br / The menu is seasonal and the produce is locally sourced our cod and mackerel are caught off the Seahouses and Beadnell coast only an hour s drive away and well worth a visit. br / br / Andy has been a professional chef for more than twenty years so you can be sure of the highest quality food and service here. br / br / Breakfast is served in the Stable restaurant from 8.30 until 9.30 am if you require an early breakfast please inform us on arrival as we can provide take-away or continental breakfast. br / br / We have six cosy ensuite rooms all upstairs.Room 1 can be a twin/double with ensuite bathroom. Room 2 is a double with ensuite shower room. Room s 3 & 5 can be a single/twin or double with ensuite shower room. Room 4 is our family room with twin/double and en-suite shower room. Room 6 is a superior king-size with ensuite showerroom. All have tea & coffee making facilities flat screen t.v. and hair dryer. br / br / We have a boot and laundry room with washer/drier and ironing facilities available at an extra charge. Secure storage for bikes and free WiFi available. br / br / The Red Lion enjoys a scenic location in the picturesque village of Newbrough four miles from Hadrian s wall. The historic town of Hexham is close by with its lovely Abbey. If you fancy a spot of shopping Newcastle Durham and Carlisle are only a short drive away. The county of Northumberland is a wonderful place to visit whatever the season.

Newcastle - Road: Newbrough lies between the A69 and the military road (B6318) on the Stanegate Road. Travelling from the east and Newcastle along the A69 turn off right at the west end of Hexham where it is sign posted for Warden Fourstones Newbrough and the Red Lion is situated in the centre of Newbrough and is unmissable. br/ br/ Carlisle - Road: Directions:Newbrough lies between the A69 and the military road (B6318) on the Stanegate Road. Travelling from the west and Carlisle along the A69 turn off left into Haydon Bridge turn left in the centre of Haydon Bridge then turn right over the railway crossing where it is sign posted Newbrough and Fourstones and as you reach the t-junction take the left past Newbrough First School and the on the right hand side in the centre of the village. br/ br/ Hexham - Bus: The local GoNorthEast service from Hexham to Newbrough stops outside the pub. The service currently runs from 6.40am to 6.45pm Monday - Saturday and the Bus Number is 683. This bus does not runs on any Sundays or Public Holidays. . br/ br/ Newcastle - Train: The nearest train station is at Hexham (7 miles) and is on the main Newcastle to Carlisle line. The trains run to Hexham approx every hour from Newcastle from 6.30am to 8.15pm Monday to Friday and 6.30am to 9.15pm on Satudrdays with a limited service on Sundays br/ br/ Newcastle Airport - Air: Newcastle International Airport (just north of Newcastle) is 40 minutes drive away with good links to rail and bus transport to the region.
