Moresby Hall is one of Cumbria s most historic homes. A Grade I listed building (circa 1620) offering stunning Country Guesthouse accommodation and retaining so many original features. This spacious Hall has been described as one of the most important buildings in Cumbria by English Heritage and totally unique and welcoming by so many guests. /p Jane and David Saxon welcome guests travelling for business or tourism. The emphasis is on relaxation superb quality and genuine hospitality at their family home. Jane is a talented (self-taught) creative cook. The menu changes often and there is a wide repertoire of interesting and delicious food served with care and imagination but please note that dinner is only available by prior arrangement. /p As former Company Directors with their commercial background they have travelled extensively and included many innovative touches for their visitor s benefit. Moresby Hall is an oasis for guests who may not wish to stay in a large impersonal or modern Hotel. /p The six individual bedrooms are all en-suite beautifully appointed and superbly equipped. You will find soft fluffy towels top quality Gilchrist & Soames toiletries a comprehensive beverage tray and the finest bed linens. Each room has the latest Pure-Fi express speaker dock for you to play & charge your i-pod / i-phone. Each bedroom has a digital flat screen LCD colour TV with integrated FreeView channels. All our rooms are individual in style with country house ambience and spacious proportions. /p Moresby Hall enjoys a semi-rural location with delightful walled gardens for our guests to enjoy. It is situated only 2 miles from Whitehaven a Georgian market and harbour town with its picturesque marina. Directions to Moresby Hall Whitehaven

M6 Junction 40 (Penrith) Follow A66 left heading towards Keswick. Lovely scenery weather permitting! Keep on the A66 past the Keswick turn off heading for Whitehaven Workington and Cockermouth. Go past the Lakeland Sheep tourist centre on left and follow signs at roundabout as above. Keep on the A66 heading for Whitehaven. Turn left at the large roundabout onto the A595 heading for Whitehaven. Straight on at the first and second (new) roundabout at the third (new) roundabout take the third exit sign posted Whitehaven & Barrow. This is the new Distington bypass you can see Moresby Hall and St Bridgets Church in the skyline as you approach the end. Take the last exit off this roundabout then turn next right (signposted for Lowca) and Moresby Hall is just on the right. Drive through main gates. If you get to Whitehaven you ve gone too far! From Egremont & Gosforth Follow the A595 heading for Whitehaven. Go past the turn off for the town centre. Keep on A595 and go past the BP petrol station on the left. Stay on A595. See a sign for the Rosehill theatre. Go just past this and turn left signposted for Lowca & Parton. You should see the St Bridget s church and Moresby Hall as you turn. Moresby Hall is immediately on the right. Drive through the main gates.
