Situated in the heart of Swindon s Old Town The Goddard Arms in an old converted Coaching inn with history and character. br / br / br / br / The building is partially listed and shows off some great architecture and period features. Purchased by the Stonegate Pub Company in 2014 the bar and restaurant were refurbished to a high standard within months. Following this in November 2016 all the rooms and communal hotel areas were invested in now all rooms have flat-screen TVs en- suite bathrooms and tea/coffee making facilities. Free Wi-Fi is also available in all rooms and the bar area and there is complementary parking on-site for up to 25 cars. br / br / br / br / The main bar and restaurant serve food and drinks all day and on Sundays the pub is well known for it s roast dinners. At weekends the business benefits from a lively location in Old Town with many bars and restaurants open late into the night. The Hotel has great transport links with close proximity to the M4 and M5. br / br / The train station is a brisk 20 minute walk away and there are bus links into and out of Swindon. br / br / br / br / This hotel is nothing like the modern plastic-box-hotel rooms found so often around the UK. There is character and history entwined throughout the building some low ceilings and narrow old corridors. The bar is also well known for it s great selection of real Ales and Wines. There is some noise from the Main Road at night times but generally very little noise from the bustling hotel below and the newly refurbished cosy rooms are a great place to stop for the night. Children are welcome in the bar/restaurant areas until 7pm at night.
