Avni completed her 5 year training at the British School of Osteopathy in 2004. She went on to study at the renowned Osteopathic Centre for Children (now Foundation for Paediatric Osteopathy) for an MSc in Paediatric Osteopathy. This helped to integrate her interest in movement such as dance, yoga, gyrotonic and pilates with embryological and developmental processes. She sees her role not only as a bodyworker, but also as an educator and strives to teach people to recognise the signals from their own bodies - which can be very difficult to sense with busy lifestyles. Avni has a deep respect for traditional modalities such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, which are just as valid in today’s hectic lifestyles. Avni is one of only around 200 Zero Balancers in the UK. This is a method of bodywork which bridges Eastern philosophies to energy work with Western structural approaches. She places importance on calmness and balance for improving and maintaining wellness. Avni sees the mind and body as inseparable for total health.Since 2007 Avni has been teaching both at the British School of Osteopathy, as a technique lecturer. She is also the Pregnancy and Childbirth lecturer.
