Prices at Byron House Chesterfield from £50 BYRON HOUSE is based on the edge of the beautiful Peak District in a rural village, Holymoorside - 2 pubs ,village shop - but only 2 miles from the ancient Market town of Chesterfield-home of the unique 'Crooked Spire' church. There is a bus stop opposite the house for buses into Chesterfield. YOUR ACCOMODATION : You will have use of a twin room on the ground floor , a private wet room, and a lounge. All accomodation is wheelchair accessible. YOUR BEDROOM : Is modern and spacious with a relaxing atmosphere. There are 2 bedside cabinets with 2 drawers each, a set of four drawers a wardrobe,and a chair.There is a hairdryer in the room. Flooring is wood effect as the heating is underfloor. YOUR WETROOM : Is tiled throughout with underfloor heating. It has a remote control GROHE shower, BODYDRYER, heated towel rail and storage for toiletries.Towels are included. YOUR LOUNGE : Has a 32'' LCD flatscreen TV, wireless internet access, tea/coffee making facilities, sideboard containing crockery, fridge,microwave, dining table and chairs. There is a sofa bed and lounge chair. You are welcome to bring in food and drinks for your own consumption. There is a piano and guitars in the lounge,so if you play, go ahead ! Warning, this may attract the company the musical members of our family ! A compendium of games and reading materials are there for your use. The lounge is on the back of the property overlooking a valley of fields and trees. A great place to look for horses, cows, rabbits, birds, foxes etc . It is quiet at night in the village so you should sleep peacefully. There is parking space on the property for several cars. BREAKFAST : A buffet breakfast is available which can includes - Cereal, Bread/rolls, freash fruit, yoghurt, juice and pastries. CHILDREN & SINGLE TRAVELLERS : Children are very welcome !!!!! A reduced rate for children under 11 staying on the sofa bed and single travellers is offered. Please contact us for details. THE VILLAGE : There is a childrens park just down the road, and a damm with ducks. .The Bulls Head pub in the village serves food all day from Wednesday to Sunday and has daily special deals e.g. 2 main courses for £12 or a special at £5.00. The other village pub, 'The Lamb Inn' serves guest real ales. You can sit privately and watch TV in your own lounge. If you feel like chatting and swapping lifstyle information, interests, etc we are a sociable family and would welcome you into our lounge. We can discuss your doing washing / ironing , using our kitchen etc and any other matters arising , at the time of your visit.. We have loved our own travel experiences and look forward to many more--- meanwhile, we are excited about our B&B adventures ! CHESTERFIELD There are markets in Chesterfield on Monday,Thursday ( flea market), Friday and Saturday. There is a large park - The Queens Park - in town with play areas ,a boating lake and train ride. County cricket is played at the ground in the park. There are all the usual highstreet stores and some local specialist shops.Bars and restaurants and a sports centre. 'The Royal Oak' in 'The Shambles' ,is the oldest Inn in Britain today.The Pomegranite Theatre and Winding Wheel concert venue have performances throughout the year . THE PEAK DISTRICT AREA : The Peak District is picturesque and has an abundance of historical places of interest and activities for all the family. It is famous walking and climbing country . Yet we are situated only 10 miles from the City of Sheffield and 26 miles from Nottingham. The lovely towns of Bakewell and Matlock are a 10 minute drive away. Our home is based just 7 miles from the Chatsworth estate - home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire which is frequently visited by members of the Royal family and has many events throughout the year. The house and gardens are a great place to visit. There is also a farmyard and adventure playgroung - which I can tell you from experience is BRILLIANT for children ! There are miles of beautiful walks around the estate. Haddon Hall ,a fabulous Manor House and Hardwick Hall , home of Bess of Hardwick, are also only a few miles away. In Matlock Bath, 10 miles away, - which is lovely - there is a small theme park named 'Gullivers Kingdom'. You may see it advertised on TV. They have installed several new rides over the past 5 years and it is a great and scenic day out for all ages. Worth a visit. Also in Matlock Bath areThe Peak District Mining museum,and Abrahams Heights. Castleton in the Peak District is the home of the Blue John Caves. Tideswell village is home to the Peak District Cathedral. Alton Towers is easily accessible- approximately a 40 minute drive.. Other easily accessible cities are : Sheffield ,10 miles- Nottingham 26 mles,- Buxton 25 miles through the beautiful Peak District - York 52 miles- Manchester 41 miles,- London 132 miles.
