The hostel has 5 private rooms which are all ensuite. We have 2 dormitories, the 8 bed ensuite dormitory and an 18 bed dormitory which is serviced with 2 toilets and 3 showers on the lower floor. In total we can accommodate 35people. We have an outside terrace garden, lounge area with dvd/video library, digital television, free book exchange and free wifi throughout the hostel. There is a fully equipped self-catering kitchen to store food/drinks and cook a hearty meal and free tea and coffee. Chester Backpackers Chester exercises a strict no smoking policy in the building and smoking is only allowed in the designated smoking area. We are the only hostel in Chester and are located only 5minutes walking distance (0.3miles) from the city centre and train station. North Wales, Liverpool and Manchester are less than an hour from Chester. Chester has the most complete Roman walled city in the country, a Roman amphitheatre, Cathedral and some of the most outstanding black and white Tudor buildings you will find in the country. Other historical landmarks include the Water tower, Leadshot Tower, canal and the Steam Mill. Chester Zoo is Britain’s biggest zoo and concession tickets are available to guests at the hostel all year round at greatly reduced prices. Chester is a great social arena with a large number of pubs dating back to the 11th Century with great food and excellent ales. There are also a number of night clubs and live music venues (Telfords Warehouse and Alexanders) within walking distance of the hostel. There is a large variety of restaurants to cater for everyone’s needs and Boughton Street boasts a number of fast food takeaway businesses within a minutes’ walk of the hostel of varying standard. Located 2 minutes from the hostel is Best Pub in Britain 2010, “The Old Harkers” pub which has great food and real ales. Situated above the Pub is the Siam Thai and Teppan-yaki Restaurant which serves excellent Thai food and sushi and has a Japanese Teppan-yaki restaurant located on the ground floor.
