Lullingstone Castle and the World Garden
Lullingstone Castle is home to the World Garden of Plants, created by Tom Hart Dyke during his time as a hostage in Colombia. Lullingstone shot to fame after BBC 2’s ‘Save Lullingstone Castle’ & 'Return to Lullingstone Castle' series. Lullingstone dates back to the 15th century, and has been in the same family ever since, and was famously home to the Lullingstone Silk Farm. The World Garden boasts thousands of species from across the globe, some of which have been collected by Tom himself on his numerous plant hunting expeditions, and also has the National Collection of Eucalyptus Trees. Lullingstone is open between April and September (inclusive), on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays. Pre-booked guided tours are also available on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
