The jewel in the Stourhead crown has to be the world-famous 18th-century landscape garden. A magnificent lake shimmering with reflections

Situated just off the B3092, near Mere in Wiltshire, Stourhead is a beautiful 18th century landscape garden and house, set in a wider estate - all of which our visitors can explore. With classically-influenced temples in the garden, and paintings and sculpture filling the house, Stourhead really is a 'living work of art', as one 18th century magazine described it. On site there is a restaurant, farm shop, plant shop, ice cream parlour, art gallery and pub - so there is plenty to see, do and eat! We have a range of events throughout the year for visitors to join in with and enjoy.

Rooms: The rooms in our charming cottage have views overlooking the historic St Peters church and entrance to the landscape garden. There are 4 bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin, 1 single). We also have a B&B with two spacious twin en-suites.

Parking: There is parking provided in front of visitor reception, subject to a small charge. Parking is free for National Trust members.

Disabled Facilities: We have a number of facilities in place for disabled people, including a buggy for tours around the landscape garden, and a regular shuttle bus to transport visitors from visitor reception to the house and garden entrances. At the house we have a wheelchair for hire and a stair-climber that can be booked in advance.
