Prices at The Close Bed and Breakfast Minchinhampton from £80

The Close is a characterful house with a lovely garden, and award-winning cafes and shops within a few yards of the front door.

The Close is the ideal place to stay when visiting the Cotswolds - off the main tourist route but within easy travelling distance of Bath, Cheltenham, Tetbury and many other Cotswold towns. The house is in the middle of the charming market town of Minchinhampton, which is a lovely Cotswold town full of historic buildings, set in glorious countryside. Minchinhampton Common, around 600 acres of National Trust land, offers loads of scope for walks and outdoor pursuits. In the summer months, the common is grazed by cattle, which also wander through the town from time to time, adding to the individual character of the area. There are many attractions within a short drive, including Rodmarton Manor for its wonderful Arts and Crafts architecture and original furniture designed for the house, and Chavenage House (which has appeared in TV and films), as well as some beautiful gardens such as Highgrove (booking required) and Abbey House Gardens, home of the "naked gardeners". There are many events around which to base a holiday including Badminton and Gatcombe horse trials, and Bath or Cheltenham festivals.
