The Manor House Inn
The Manor House Inn Shotley Bridge is a 17th Century Coaching Inn full of character and old worldly charm, with open fires and creaking floor boards, it offers the opportunity to walk into a time gone by. Positioned on the A68 between Castleside and Hexham, it is nestled in the heart of the picturesque Derwent Valley. Stunning views overlook a moorland landscape, which combined with the impressive Derwent Reservoir presents a picture to impress even the most ardent critic. The restaurant has a reputation for its quality food and seasonal game menus, the locals bar for its friendly atmosphere and large selection of real ales always on tap. We are also dog friendly and welcome your pets along with you on your break. The Manor still puts a big emphasis on retaining its connection with the local community, just as it has done for over one hundred years. Traditionally the fare served from the kitchen was harvested and supplied by local farmers and hunters from the bountiful larder of moorland and dale. Today things are really no different and the link with tradition remains as strong as ever, with the supply of trout and game coming from within a few miles radius. Many suppliers are themselves locals and valued customers of the Manor, who come along to feast on the produce they have supplied.
