Tudor House Skipton
Prices at Tudor House Skipton Skipton from £35 PPPN Built in 1849, Tudor House is one of the most unique and welcoming guesthouses in the Dales. Built as a railway station to service the village of Malham, the house stands on the world famous Skipton – Settle – Carlisle line. Bob & Sheila Marchant took over in Autumn 2009 and are rapidly gaining a reputation for their warm hospitality and the welcoming atmosphere they treat their guests to. 5 guests rooms, 2 deluxe doubles, 2 doubles and a twin, all with en suite or private bath/shower facilities, ensure we can cater for most needs. Rooms have either scenic views over Malhamdale or first class tickets to watch the steam locos en route to Settle & beyond. Each has TV, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryer. We have 3 public rooms for exclusive use of our guests, the dining room fashioned from the old ticket office, the sun room/library built on part of the old platform and the lounge, complete with cosy log burning stove, which once performed as Waiting Room and parcel office. Around an acre of well-tended gardens complete an idyllic location for that relaxing break or base for that not to be missed tour of the fabulous Yorkshire Dales. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. and only the finest, freshest local produce is used. Evening meals are available by prior arrangement and a sample menu can be forwarded on request. We have free wireless internet access throughout, although (thankfully many admit) the mobile signal is poor to none existent. A drink can be had at our “Honesty Bar” which stocks a wide range of beers, wines & spirits, but if your tipple is a little exotic, just let us know and we’ll have it for you on arrival! Therefore, whether it be a central base for exploring the wonders of the Yorkshire Dales, a relaxing, get-away-from-it-all break or a specific walking, bird watching, train spotting, trekking holiday you are looking for, Tudor House can offer you the perfect home from home to enjoy it in. Where are we? Bell Busk is a tiny hamlet less than a mile off the A65 just about mid-way between Skipton & Settle. Look for the turning on the A65 in the village of Coniston Cold marked Bell Busk & Malham. Once on that road you cannot miss us on the left about 300 yards after passing under a small railway viaduct. Malham is less than 4 miles further along the same road with all it has to offer in terms of the Cove, the Tarn, Gordale Scar, the Peregrine Falcons and lots, lots more. Grassington, Skipton & Settle are all less than 15 minutes drive away and have everything the visitor might need to ensure a truly memorable stay in the Dales. We have a wealth of local interest books & leaflets than will ensure you are not short of options when it comes to things to do and places to visit. Similarly we have our own guide to all the eating establishments around which has been compiled with the help of information and recommendations from our guests, so you won’t go hungry either! So if you are bound for the Yorkshire Dales make sure you don’t buy a “through ticket”, but stop off at Tudor House where the warmest welcome is guaranteed.
