Coniston Museum - Coniston Museum has much information about the village and its history and has been closely associated with the project to recover Bluebird, Donald Campbell's jet boat that cost him his life in an attempt on the World Water Speed Record on Coniston. It is hoped that the boat will be displayed in the museum in due course

Grizedale Visitors Centre - Grizedale visitors centre has exhibitions of the history and development of Grizedale Forest. From the centre there are extensive walks and cycle tracks through the forest.
There is also a GO APE adventure.

The Gondola - The Gondola is a steam powered motor launch owned by the National Trust. In season it offers trips along Lake Coniston, its almost silent engine and design is something to be experienced.
