The Churnet Valley - A stunningly beautiful wooded valley with Canal, River and Steam Railway running alongside each other and many walkable footpaths for you to discover. A vast amount of wildlife and wildflowers can easily be seen as you walk the Canal Towpath or branch off to other paths. It has an Industrial past that you can learn about from the local TICs and info boards along the way and it is also part of the Staffordshire Way walk. You will see Lime Kilns, Locks and Narrow Boats, The Old Mills (now private residences) A good pub can be found at Consul with good food too! and another in Cheddleton.

The Churnet Valley Steam Railway - Steam and Diesel trains run along this beautiful wooded valley flanked by the Caldon Canal and River Churnet. Now a 27 mile round trip can be enjoyed every weekend throughout the year and Wednesday's too in July and August. Themed weekends, Dining Trains and many other special events make this a truly enjoyable experience for the whole Family and a visit to the Tea Rooms at Kingsley and Froghall Station is a must to sample Marg's cakes.
